Terracon, a manufacturer of material processing equipment, has several outstanding opportunities for student placements as Design and Manufacturing Engineers at our facility located in Magherafelt, Northern Ireland.
Terracon designs, manufactures & sells a comprehensive line of material processing equipment and aftermarket parts marketed globally.
Job description
Successful applicants will work in a team responsible for a range of key accountabilities to include the following, depending on position and department:
- Concept and design of options based on product requirements or special quotations generated through dealer requests
- Develop design changes using 3D CAD and produce engineering drawings
- Generate bills of materials for engineering release
- Use of manufacturing systems to nest material & programme cutting equipment
- Develop and updated operation and service manuals for our equipment
- Provide technical support to production departments
- Development projects
- Departmental improvements
- Testing of equipment
- Validate new product releases and updates
- Investigate technical issues using various problem-solving processes
- Redesign products to improve performance and value
- Provide general support to the Team
Knowledge Required:
- Candidates should be students, working towards a degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline
- Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings and experience using 3D CAD & creating 2D Drawings
- Understanding of basic mechanical and electrical engineering concepts
- Competent in MS365 Office packages
- Demonstrate strong team working and communication skills, proactivity and initiative and a desire to learn in a fast-paced environment
